Dr. Laura Boggs purchased Cloverfield Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Maria Magsino in May 2014. “Cloverfield provides the ideal setting I was looking for. I am proud to be a part of what Dr. Magsino has created and hope to continue providing quality medicine while bringing new ideas and services to benefit the community.”
Dr. Boggs graduated with honors from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and attended The University of Georgia for her clinical year. Being a native of Texas (don’t worry she has been a resident of North Carolina for over 10 years), Dr. Boggs also attended Texas Tech University where she received both her Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees in Agricultural Education. She was in the field of Education for 10 years before returning back to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
When away from the clinic, Dr. Boggs enjoys spending time with her wonderful daughter, India. Other pleasurable activities include reading, baking, gardening, walking her dogs, and most anything outside.
“The bond that can be associated with people and their pets can be extraordinary. I feel it is my responsibility to help an animal maintain a good quality of life for as long we have the opportunity to be with them. I have worked in a busy corporate practice, rural mixed animal practice, and most recently in a county shelter as a spay/neuter surgeon and doctor for a non-profit wellness clinic. Because of these experiences, I feel I have acquired a skill for working with a lot of different type of folks with a wide range of backgrounds and financial abilities.
I also believe strongly in the sustainability of local farms. I want to be able to provide veterinary services needed in our community for local production farm animals.”
Dr. Maria Magsino was born and raised in the Chicago area and received her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 1985. She fell in love with Polk County when her parents moved here in 1979 and has spent her entire veterinary career in the Carolinas. In 2003, she sold her practice (Woodruff Road Animal Hospital) in Greenville and moved to Green Creek. Tiring of the long commute, she found a beautiful turn of the century farmhouse within walking distance and opened Cloverfield Vet. Hospital in 2006. "I'm excited to continue to be a part of Cloverfield and see it reach it's potential as a full service hospital. I'm delighted that Dr. Boggs has the vision and the energy to take us there. Please note...I am only semi-retired. You can't get rid of me that easily!"

Alicia has been with Cloverfield since she began her internship (through Animal Behavior College) in February of 2015. Since then she has graduated with honors and has joined the Cloverfield team as a veterinary assistant. Though graduated Alicia continues to learn under the guidance of the doctors and technicians within the practice. She is grateful for each opportunity she has had within the practice where she continues to extend her knowledge in animal care. In her spare time she enjoys reading, exploring new places, making art, learning different things, photography, and cuddling with her dogs and cats.
